Getting started with Amazon Music for Artists
Amazon Music for Artists gives you access to detailed analytics, Alexa voice reporting trends, and tools to customize your artist profile across the Amazon Music ecosystem.
How to get access
1. Download the app
Download the Amazon Music for Artists app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Sign in
Sign in using an Amazon retail account. If you don't have one, create a free account first.
3. Claim your artist
- Click the "Claim An Artist" button on the search screen
- Search for and select the artist you represent
- Press "Take Me There" to start verification
- Provide your role and company information
- Connecting social media accounts can speed up approval
- Press "Submit" — you'll receive email confirmation once verified
What you can do
After claiming your profile, you can:
- Monitor trends — access detailed streaming data and analytics
- Alexa voice reporting — see how often listeners ask Alexa to play your music
- Geographic insights — identify where your listeners are located
- Playlist tracking — discover where your songs appear on Amazon's curated playlists and stations
- Profile customization — update your profile picture and background image
- Contact support — reach Amazon directly for content or profile issues
Updating your profile images
Profile photo
- Select the artist to manage
- Go to Profile & Tools
- Edit your Profile Photo
- Choose, resize if needed, and save
Background image
- Same process as profile photo, but select Background Image
- Minimum 1920 x 1440 pixels
- Artist's face should be in the upper 40%, centered horizontally
Image guidelines
- Format: JPEG or PNG only
- Profile photo: minimum 500 x 500 pixels
- Background: minimum 1920 x 1440 pixels
- File size: no larger than 15 MB
- Avoid text, logos, and busy compositions
- No violence or explicit content
- No copyrighted material you don't own
Good to know
- Amazon Music does not currently support artist bios
- "Popular Songs" and "Popular Albums" rankings reflect customer interaction patterns across both on-demand and lean-back listening (playlists, stations)
- Related Playlists show playlists containing your tracks
- ASIN codes (Amazon's unique product identifiers) are useful when contacting support about specific releases
